About Us
Eastern Lift Services Ltd. are an independent service provider within the Lift & Escalator industry, specialising in the maintenance, repair and modernisation of all types of lifts and escalators. We pride ourselves in delivering an excellent level of service to our clients, whilst offering efficiency savings.
Our clients are the most important part of our business, and we strive to ensure complete satisfaction with all aspects of our business. Our clients range from nursing homes to local authorities, and from large corporate bodies to primary, secondary and private schools. Many of the sites we maintain are high profile, where safety is paramount (e.g. chemical plants, shopping centres, food processing sites, football stadiums, financial institutions, hotels etc.). Our geographical coverage ranges from London to Leicester. We hold accounts with market leaders and suppliers for parts. We have ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental) accreditation, are part of Constructionline and are members of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association.
In addition to safety testing, refurbishment, modernisation, repairs and attendance to break downs, we service lifts/escalators at regular intervals. Our maintenance programme includes:
- Inspection - inspect the operation of mechanical processes in line with the scheduled maintenance.
- Cleaning - clean to remove any foreign contaminants from items inspected.
- Lubrication - lubricate all moving parts as required in line with the scheduled maintenance.
- Adjustment - adjust components that are inspected.
To ensure lift/escalator maintenance is carried out safely, effectively and efficiently. The following procedures are followed:
- Site risk assessments are carried out before the commencement of new work, for the safety of our engineers, the client’s staff or members of the public;
- On-site log cards record maintenance and repairs carried out by our engineers, supplementary test history and health and safety recommendations;
- Risk assessments (114 point check) are carried out annually to highlight any hazards that are present on the client’s lift/escalator equipment;
- A further 96 point check list is followed regarding the servicing of the lift machine room, landing equipment, car equipment and hoistway equipment;
- A further 45 point check list is followed regarding the servicing of the escalator equipment and its machine area;
- Following each maintenance visit a report is produced for the client, highlighting potential areas of concern (ahead of issues arising) to enable the client’s future budgetary planning;
- Examinations/testing is carried out in accordance with the supplementary test produced by the Safety Assessment Federation (with certification issued on completion);
In addition to the above, we provide a 24 hour (365 days a year) UK service centre to deal with emergency breakdown calls. To ensure all your needs are met, a dedicated customer liaison manager is the single point of contact for client’s questions, comments and reporting procedures.
